Mail Call! - Receiving Our 1st USPS Mail Delivery

   Our HD surveillance camera system at The Homestead catches some very interesting events from time to time and when we happen to actually catch them, we save them and share them with the world.

   In this video you will you see our very first United States Postal Service (USPS) delivery ever made to the homestead. It had been a battle from early days of my parents to be able to have a mailbox at the top of our driveway. Finally after 45 years since my parents bought the property I got to place a mailbox at the top of my driveway!

   I also have installed a Vera™ Home Automation Controller at the homestead and interfaced it to my DSC Powerseries™ security system. When I installed my postal mailbox I also installed a wireless transmitter on the mailbox door to detect it being opened. I then programmed Vera to notify me by email whenever I receive "snail mail". See screen shots below of the USPS tracking of the package received and the Vera notification I got when the US Postal Employee opened my mailbox to deliver my package.

   In this video you will you see our very first United States Postal Service (USPS) delivery ever made to the homestead. You can barely see the top of my driveway in the upper left hand corner of the screen, but watch as the US Postal employee pulls up to drop off our first delivery
